Silly Afton

I couldn't resist taking this photo... just too cute and funny...

So here is the story.

Afton is getting old enough that she doesn't want to take a nap if there are exciting things going on. She won't fall asleep at the grocery store, snuggled up in her car seat anymore. Or if we are at Papa and Nana's, or with the Bennett's, or at Jen and Shae's house. She wants to be awake to be a part of the action!

So, yesterday I had a bunch of neighbor kids over and it was Afton's nap time. I fed her, changed her diaper, laid her in her bed... but she wouldn't go to sleep. She actually learned for the first time how to pull herself up to a standing position in her crib (good thing I lowered it last week) and would just stand there and cry until I came to get her out.

The funny thing about this story is that while she was standing there crying in her bed, she was so tired that she could hardly keep her eyes open! But as soon as she say the kids running around the house she would start smiling and kicking her legs in excitement. I gave in and just let her sit in her highchair with a bottle (thinking that if she was extra full it would help her sleep more easily).

She seemed content and wasn't crying anymore so I started making dinner. I turned around to look at her and she was sound asleep... cute thing!
