Papa, Spiderman-Lance, Nana, Batman-Johnny, Camille, Monkey-Afton, Christine, Catwoman-Evelyn
Last year we started a tradition with the Covey's where we have the kids dress up in their Halloween costumes and go up to Garnder Village near Halloween time. The kids LOVED having Nana and Papa take them on a "horsie" ride and spend time chasing, pushing, petting, sitting on, feeding, admiring, and "loving" the animals in the petting farm.
Our 2 girls are already great friends!
Papa and little Afton.
She really loves her Papa!
Papa and Johnny-boy.
Nana and Johnny-boy (I believe his first word was actually "Nana").
Lance riding solo... he wouldn't let anyone walk beside him. He's a professional Jockey now, didn't you know? He did this last year!
Afton watching while the 2 boys rode on the "horsies". She looks like she is really focusing on what they are doing. She must know that she will get to ride one next year.
Papa surprised us and got off work to spend time with the grandkids! What a great Papa! He paid for the tickets for all the fun activities for the 2 boys so we could create all these fun memories. Thanks Papa! You are truly the best and we love you so much!
Nana and Papa with their cute grandkids!
Here is the line-up of grandkids so far...
LANCE
Spiderman-Lance striking a pose.
JOHNNY
Batman-Johnny inspecting a goat.
AFTON
Afton sucking on her monkey tail!
EVELYN
Evelyn... stretching after her "cat" nap. =)
Don't worry, Spiderman and Batman were only ACTING like they were fighting... for picture purposes only, of course. =)
Cute boys... they got so excited every time that horse got close to the gate. Johnny just kept saying, "Horsie! Horsie! Horsie!" and running in place because he was so happy and excited!
Here is a pretty good view of the Petting Farm and the fun animals that live there. This goat is pretty average sized in comparison to the many goats on the farm... and it is just about as tall as the boys!
The best friends relaxing for a minute to regain their super-human strength.
This was Johnny-boy's first experience in the Petting Farm and boy did he love it! He loves horsies, and has come to love goats and pigs too (he spent a fair amount of time standing behind them and pushing them around)! It was so fun to see our 2 boys so fearless of all the animals and enjoying running around with them even when they were bigger than they are!
Thanks Papa and Nana for such a fun outing! We love you!!!
