My cute kids getting all clean!
A few months ago I was teaching his some of the states on a map. I pointed to California and told him that is were he was born... I haven't mentioned it since. This is what he said to me this morning...
(Holding up a little soccer ball) "Mommy, who gave this to me?"
"You got it as a present when you were born."
"In California"
"Wow, yes. That is right. You were born in California."
Afton laughing while Lance plays with her in the water!
He rubbed his eyes this morning as if they were hurting...
"Are you okay Lance?"
"That little boy put sand in my eye."
"What little boy Lance?" (it is only 8am and we just woke up).
"At the Dinosaur Museum with the boy."
"Are you remembering when we went to the Dinosaur Museum with Evan"
"Yes... Dinosaur bones, and he got sand in my eye... in my mouth..." (We went to the Dinosaur Museum with my friend Stacy and her son Evan almost a year ago!)
Lance loves to blow on Afton's tummy and tickle her!
While saying his bedtime prayers last night...
"Heavy Father, tank you for this day. Tank you for Mommy and Daddy and tank you for Afton. Tank you for Jesus, that He died for us. In name Jesus Christ, Amen."
Talking about Jesus yesterday (Sunday) afternoon...
"Mommy, Jesus comes down from Heaven!"
"Yes, that is right."
"When He comes down open my door, okay?"
"(Smiling) Okay Lance, I will."
I am the Primary Chorister in my ward and have been singing the Primary Songs to Lance and Afton to help me remember them. I couple of weeks ago I was singing a song called "Baptism" a lot because I was trying to learn it so I could teach it to the children. It is about Jesus being baptised and it has the Sign Language to it as well. Lance and I sang and did the signs for the song over and over for about a week (that was about 2 months ago). Yesterday Lance was in timeout and I told him that if he sat in his room and sang a primary song he could come out when he finished the song. "Jesus came to John the Baptist..." Lance was singing the Baptism Song! I was so impressed because he got almost every word correct! When he come out I had him sing it to me again and he even remembered the Sign Language! What a smart little guy!
What a good helper... Lance helps Afton get all clean.
Lance continues to be very friendly and social. Yesterday our friends, Danielle and Ryan Davis, stopped by with their two girls for some desert at our house. As soon as Lance saw them he immediately excitedly ran to them and said, "Hi guys! Come in! (motioning with his little arms to come in the kitchen)" Danielle commented to me on how she sees Lance as such "the little host." I agree. Whenever we see anyone we know, and strangers too, Lance is always quick to say, "Hi! What's your name? What's your full name?" or "Hi! Come in!" or "Hi kids! What you doing?"
These kids have the same "look" and many people comment on their similarities. I love them so much and can't imagine my life without them!
Lance is so much fun and we love him very, very much. He has always been a very friendly little guy and it is so fun to watch him learn and grow, and learn about Jesus and gain his own little testimony. Yesterday when he asked me to be sure to "open his door" when "Jesus comes down" it helped me to remember how simple faith can be. He knows that Jesus will want to be with him when He comes again and wants to be sure his bedroom door is open so Jesus knows to come in. Oh, to have the faith of a little child... We love you Lance!
What a sweet post. I keep a notebook for each of my kids of the funny and cute things they say and I just love to read back through it. They are so innocent and sweet--and this time will be gone before we know it!
