02.21.09 - Sundance Cabin

Sundance this year was wonderful as always. It is so great to get together and spend time with the John & Jane Covey family. The family is constantly growing. It starts with the 10 children and their spouses (20 - Children), plus their children (48 - Grandchildren), plus THEIR children (3 - Great-Grandchildren). That is over 70 people and it will continue to grow every year!!!

We love having a big family (although it has its challenges) and are so grateful to Stephen and Sandra Covey for allowing us to share this beautiful cabin with them.

AFTON & LANCE - 9 weeks & 2 1/2 years

Sundance is a great time for cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to spend time together and rekindle friendships.

It was so fun for Michael and I to spend time with Papa and Grandma and our Aunts and Uncles (who really aren't that much older that us) and for Lance to play and run around with his cousins and 2nd cousins (who are all around his same age).

THE TWO BOYS - Lance and Johnny

We were able to spend a lot of time hanging out with the family and also ski and snowboard! Michael and I got to go out that Saturday afternoon together and it was so great to be in the beautiful mountains and spend some time together.

Fortunately the weather was absolutely perfect that weekend. There was a big snow storm right before we got there to dust the mountains with perfect snow and then the sun was shining and the weather was ideal on the Friday and Saturday we were there. Wow, it is so beautiful in the mountains.

YOGA CLASS - Sundance

Uncle Johnny taught Yoga one morning and it was so much fun!

We had all ages and levels in attendance... from age 2 to 40!

Look at the level of concentration!

Every year while at Sundance we have our own special Sacrament meeting on Sunday. It is conducted just like any sacrament meeting with the songs, prayers, passing of the sacrament, and talks. We also always have a testimony meeting before we close. This time of sharing testimonies is always so inspiring and powerful. To be able to hear and feel the testimonies of all the people we are so close to and love so much is such an amazing experience. I am always able to feel the Spirit so strong and my testimony is always strengthened.

I am so grateful that I have grown up in a family that is true to the gospel and it full of individuals who love the Lord and try to do His will. I can feel the strength of each of my family members and it builds me up and makes me want to be a better person.

Thank you to all of those who work so hard to make gatherings like Sundance possible... it means more than you know.
